The Jacksonville Vein Center at Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgical Associates is a world-class
center for comprehensive, state-of -the art treatment of diseases and disorders of the veins and
arteries. We are the oldest sustained providers of care in cardiovascular diseases in Jacksonville
and are the largest provider of cardiac and peripheral vascular services in Northeast Florida. We
have 11 board-certified vascular specialists with offices at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Baptist
Medical Center- Downtown, Memorial Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital and Flagler Hospital.
Our new office opened in January 2007 at the Gary and Nancy Chartrand Heart and Vascular Center at
St. Vincent's Hospital and houses the Jacksonville Vein Center offering comprehensive, cutting-edge
care of all aspects of venous disease. We have the busiest vascular laboratory in the area and are
one of first ICAVL- accredited facilities in the region. Our facility combines the quality and safety
of a hospital setting with convenience and efficiency of an office setting.
We remain on the cutting-edge of the revolution that is occurring in the care of patients with
cardiovascular problems. This represents a tremendous shift from conventional surgical treatment to
the latest innovations in non-surgical and minimally invasive procedures.
All of our doctors are certified by the American Board of Surgery in Vascular Surgery or Cardiothoracic
Surgery. Each physician has undergone additional vascular training at centers of excellence throughout
the United States including the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, the University of Missouri,
Massachusetts General Hospital, the Texas Heart Institute, the Cleveland Clinic and the University of
Michigan. We pride ourselves on our reputation as the region's specialists in the comprehensive management
of disorders of the heart, arteries and veins.
Our doctors are Fellows of the American College of Surgeons and members of the Society for Vascular Surgery,
the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery and the Florida Vascular Society. The physicians are recognized
leaders in their fields having trained physicians throughout the nation in minimally- invasive techniques and
endovascular surgery such as endovascular abdominal aneurysm repair, VNUS radiofrequency ablation of the greater
saphenous vein, Fox hollow Silver hawk atherectomy, outpatient dialysis-access techniques, use of Vascular
anastomotic clips and minimally- invasive MAZE procedures. Our physicians remain committed to providing the
most innovative care for our patients and are active in ongoing clinical research trials.
